Jasmine oil is used used for making perfumes and incense. Its flowers are used to flavour Jasmine tea and other herbal or black tea. Its oil is also used in creams, shampoos and soaps. In India Jasmine flowers are stringed together to make garlands. Women in India wear this flower in their hair. Some communities even use this flower to cover the face of the bridegroom.

the plant is a very popular garden plant because of its easy flowering and nice fragrance. The flowers are also frequently used in the perfume and aeromatic oil industry. The flower buds keep well after cutting. Fresh flowers are popular as flower offerings in Buddhist and Hindu temples. The flower buds which are more fragrant than the flowers, are traditionally used by ladies to decorate their hair. It is also made into garlands. Many also use the flowers to freshen and scent the air in their rooms and cars.

* Jasmine is used for mouth ulcers, and its fresh juice is applied to corns.
* It is also used as an alternative for cancers as well as viral and bacterial infections.
* It has antidepressant, antiseptic, anti-spasmodic, sedative and uterine properties.
